George - Old Car Show February 2012
The George Old Car Show hosted by the Southern Cape Old Car Club is scheduled for 11th and 12 February 2012. Every year the george Old Car Show attracts thousands of visitors and more and more exhibitors in what is today one of the best shows of its type.
The Southern Cape Old Car Club say on their website that the aim of the club is to assist in the acquisition, preservation, exhibition, maintenance and use of Veteran and Vintage motor vehicles
and also to promote competitions, rallies and other social events with the emphasis on family participation.
You are guaranteed a fabulous weekend of great fun for the whole family and more chrome and shiny metal than you can cope with. In 2010 there were more than 10,000 visitors and around 900 vehicles on display. There is always a splendid display of model cars as well, which attracts much interest.
You would be well advised to book early for accommodation in George, Mossel Bay or Wilderness.
The 1960's Chevrolet Coupe featured here is sure to be there again along with other fine models from around the world.
Getting There
Take the N2 from Cape Town or from Knysna. Take the York Street exit toward George. Go through the circle and the P W Botha School will be on your right. Exhibitors turn right at the circle and left into Long Street to get to the exhibition area.
